Sensex at 35,570 gains over 100 points, Nifty PSU bank up 1%

Indian equity benchmarks inched higher owing to Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Infosys and Kotak Mahindra.

At 9:35 AM, the BSE Sensex is trading at 35,602 up 159 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,812 up 45 points.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.37% at 16,082, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.70% at 16,887.

Bajaj Finance (+0.78%), Sun Pharma (+0.69%), HCL Tech (+0.64%), Infratel (+0.64%), Bajaj Auto (+0.59%) were the top gainers on NSE.

ICICI Bank (-1.30%), IOC (-0.57%), UPL (-0.22%), Bajaj Finserve (-0.16%), Coal India (-0.10%) were the top losers on NSE.

Some buying activity is seen in telecom, realty, consumer durables, while auto, oil and gas and banking are showing weakness on BSE.

Inox Wind dropped 8% after its auditors decided to quit the firm.

Sun Pharma has extended gains from Friday.

Sagar Cements is up ~6% on the back of good sales figures for May.

Nestle gains over 1.5% to cross above Rs10K per share for the first time.

The INDIA VIX is down -2.81% at 12.3400.

Out of 2,049 stocks traded on the NSE, 400 declined, 1,134 advanced and 515 remained unchanged today.

A total of 10 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 34 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Rupee opened higher at 67.42 per dollar against Friday's close of 67.50.
