GST revenue collection lower at Rs94,726cr in December

India’s goods and services tax (GST) revenue collection in December eased to Rs94,726cr compared to Rs97,637cr in the previous month, the government data showed.

Of the total, Central GST was Rs16,442cr, State GST was Rs22,459cr, integrated GST was Rs47,936cr (including Rs23,635cr collected on imports) and Cess was Rs7,888cr (including Rs838cr collected on imports).

Meanwhile, the total number of GSTR 3B Returns filed for November upto December 31 is 72.44 lakh.

"The government has settled Rs18,409cr to CGST and Rs14,793cr to SGST from IGST as a regular settlement. Further, Rs18,000cr has been settled from the balance IGST available with the Centre on a provisional basis in the ratio of 50:50 between Centre and States. The total revenue earned by Central Government and the State Governments after regular settlement in December is Rs43,851cr for CGST and Rs46,252cr for the SGST," the government said.
