Equity benchmark indices were oscillating between gains and losses in Friday's morning session amid mixed global cues. The Sensex rose slightly 13 points to 35,912, while the Nifty was up 3 points at 10,793.
The market breadth was positive with 1,124 shares advancing, 491 shares declining, and 440 remaining unchanged.
The Nifty Auto index rose over 1% at 8,264.25 led by Motherson Sumi, TVS Motor, Maruti, Hero MotoCorp, and M&M which gained 2-1%, respectively.
Ashok Leyland gained 1.5% after ~17.4 lakh shares changed hands in a block deal on the NSE.
Tata Motors, MRF, and Exide were trading up 1% each.
The Realty index was also up 1% led by Unitech, Oberoi Realty, Brigade, DLF, and Prestige.
From the banking space, SBI, Syndicate Bank, Bank Of India, and J&K Bank gained in today’s session. On the flip side, IDBOI Bank, Central Bank, Indian Bank, and Union Bank were trading in the negative territory.
