Nifty closed at 9886 level down by 5 points while Sensex closed at 32020 level down by 16 points on Friday. There were 587 advances, 1086 declines and 288 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting mixed sentiments floating in the market.

TCS and Infosys contributed most to the losses of major indices in the market. TCS closed at Rs 2397.45 per share, down by Rs 48.95 per share or 2%. Infosys closed at Rs 972.05 per share, down by Rs 5 per share or 0.5%.
BSE Mid-cap index closed at 15187 level, up by 33 points or 0.22% and BSE Small-cap index closed at 15908 level, down by 55 points or 0.35%. 
Some bank stocks moved to positive territory after the announcement of WPI inflation data for the month of June 2017. The annual rate of inflation, based on monthly WPI, stood at 0.90% (provisional) for the month of June 2017 (over June 2016) as compared to 2.17% (provisional) for the previous month and -0.09% during the corresponding month of the previous year. 
Bank Nifty closed at its record closed high of 23937 level, up by 49 points or 0.21%. Canara Bank was top gainer in the index closed at Rs 367.5 per share, up by Rs 5.1 per share or 1.41%.
 Infosys came up with its Q1FY18 results. The company reported consolidated results for the quarter registered a beat on street estimates. Revenue for the quarter came in 5.2% higher than the estimated figure of Rs 17014 crores. Also, net profit for the quarter came in 1.7% higher than the estimated figure of Rs 3426 crores.
 Recently listed companies including CDSL, AU Small Finance Bank, GTPL Hathway, HUDCO, Tejas Networks and Eris Lifesciences were plunged in the Friday’s trading session.
Videocon snapped 14-day winning streak on Friday, the stock tanked over 5%. It had rebounded after falling for 24 straight sessions.
