Centre Government will take necessary steps to ease fuel price situation: BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has stated that the government will take necessary steps to relieve the common man’s woes on fuel prices. The government has been under a lot of pressure over the steep increase in fuel prices while global crude prices rose only marginally. The opposition has been critisicing the ruling party over the mismatch. 

The oil marketing companies started daily fuel price revision regime from June 16. Until then, oil companies used to reflect international oil prices and currency fluctuations every fortnight.However, the move has drawn a lot of criticism from consumers as the prices of petrol and diesel have gone up from July’s rates of Rs 63.09 (the monthly average of petrol of Delhi's Indian Oil Corporation) to Rs 70.52 on September 21.
