Equity benchmark indices have further gained momentum on account of all-round buying. Infosys, Yes Bank, Cipla and ICICI Bank are among the top contributors, up in the range of 1-2% respectively. On the other hand, Infratel, IndusInd Bank, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors and Hindalco fell in today’s trade.
India VIX slipped 4% at 15.78.
The Nifty Metal index slipped 1% led by NALCO, Hindalco, Vedanta, Hindustan Copper and Coal India fell in the range 1-3% in today’s trade.
Further, the Bank Nifty gained over 100 points at 30,648.05 levels. Yes Bank gained 2%, followed by ICICI Bank, Federal Bank, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank were up 1% each.
Agro Phos India, Alkem Laboratories, Cosmo Films, Dixon Technologies, Godfrey Phillips India, Hind Rectifiers, Hindustan Foods, Jump Networks and VST Industries hit a 52-week high on the NSE.
Benchmark Nifty50 index was trading 19 points up at 11,859 and the Sensex was trading 121 points higher at 40,233.
Overall, 24 shares were trading in the green in Nifty50 index, while 25 were trading in the red.
